Re-Inspections
Re-Inspections are necessary after any deleading work has been performed. During the deleading process, if any moderate risk or high risk deleading is done on the interior of a unit, occupants must be temporarily relocated during the work (see FAQ's page for risk levels of deleading).

Re-Occupancy Re-Inspection

A Re-Occupancy Re-Inspection is performed after all moderate risk and high risk work is completed in the interior of a unit and there is still work being done in the common areas and/or the exterior. This allows tenants to move back in before full deleading is completed. Before a Letter of Re-Occupancy is issued, a visual inspection to ensure that all moderate risk and high risk work is complete and the unit has been properly cleaned. Lead dust is tested with a set of dust wipes, which are sent to a certified lab for analysis. A passing set of dust wipes and passing visual inspection are necessary before occupants are allowed to return and a Letter of Re-Occupancy is issued.

Full Deleading Re-Inspection

A Full Deleading Re-Inspection is performed when all deleading work is complete (interior, common areas, and exterior). A visual inspection that all lead hazards have been corrected and the property has been properly cleaned is performed. If there was no Re-Occupancy Re-Inspection done, then a set of dust wipes are taken to be analyzed by a certified lab. After a passing visual inspection and a passing set of dust wipes are taken (either during a Re-Occupancy Re-Ispection or during the Full Deleading Re-Inspection), a Letter of Full Deleading Compliance is issued.

PCAD Re-Inspections
A PCAD Re-Inspection is performed after a Post Compliance Assessment Determination (PCAD) reveals lead hazards and the hazards have been corrected. This includes a visual inspection that all hazards have been corrected and the unit has been properly cleaned. A set of dust wipes are taken and sent to a certified lab for analysis. After a passing visual inspection and passing set of dust wipes a Letter of Maintained Compliance is issued (if work was completed within 30 day window). If work was not completed within the 30 day window, after a passing set of dust wipes and visual inspection a Letter of Restored Compliance is issued.
